Traders Association Annual General Meeting 2008

The next Traders Association General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 11th March at The Prince of Wales, New Romney. Members are welcome from 5:30pm, meeting starts at 5:45pm.

Local Trader Running in London Marathon for Charity

Local Trader Linda Rogerson-Heath of the Homeopath's in New Romney, is running to raise money for children of the Make A Wish Foundation; who provide wishes for dying children, in the London Flora Marathon on April 13th 2008.

Hidden Gem Increases Opening Hours

The local jewellers, Hidden Gem, have increased their opening hours for the christmas trade.
The new opening hours are as follows:

Mon - Thurs: 9.15am - 5.00pm
Fri: 9.15am - 7.00pm
Sat: 9.15am - 5.00pm
Sun: 10.00am - 2.00pm
Closed 25th and reopen 2nd Jan

Late Night Shopping Success
The late night shopping this year turned out to be a great success! Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves, a great time had by all!
The traders association would like to say a special thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and running of the event.
And a special thanks to the weather for holding out on us!

Childrens Window Competition
This proved to be a great success within exess of 100 entries!
The three lucky winners are Ewen Harmer 7, from New Romney, Lotte Leyshon 4, from Littlestone and Luke Harmsworth 5, from New Romney.
Each of the winners have won a large tin of Quality Street to be presented to them by The Right Worshipful Mayor of New Romney Speaker of the Cinque Ports Councillor Clive Wire. on the 13th of December.

Christmas Window Display Competition
A special thanks to everyone who put time and effort into creating such festive and elaborate displays, but there could only be 3 winners! They are as follows:
1st Place: Hospice Shop
2nd Place: Temptations
3rd Place: Eden Bespoke Florist

Certificates will be presented to the shops by The Right Worshipful Mayor of New Romney Speaker of the Cinque Ports Councillor Clive Wire.


Christmas Holly

CHRISTMAS LATE NIGHT TRADING

New Romney's late night trading will be held on Tuesday 11th December.

There will be a procession starting at 6:30pm.

Latest Town Coucil Press Release "Teens Dream is a step closer to reality"

New Romney Town Council have been awarded a grant of £9,509 by the National Lottery’s ‘Awards for All’ funding stream. Full details of the press release can be downloaded from Here.

Town Square

New Romney's New Mini Town Square

A strip of land in the centre of the High Street has now been officially transferred into the ownership of New Romney Town Council.  A package was negotiated with the donor of the land who ‘gifted’ the land to the people of New Romney and absorbed all parties legal fees. Therefore, due to the generosity of Goodlife Estates Ltd, we have, without cost to residents, now added to the Town’s assets.

Traders Association Meeting

Tuesday 21st August 2007, Members welcome from 5.30pm, Meeting starts 5.45pm - The Cinque Ports Inn, New Romney

As previously explained, it is not expected for all members to attend meetings as all members will all be given minutes following each meeting. However, any support you would like to give by attending would be greatly appreciated.

Would all members who have yet to pay their £20.00 subscription, kindly arrange for this to be given to Christine Duke, Spice of Life, before the date of this meeting.

Town Hall

High Street's Presentation Improved!

The New Romney Town Hall has just under-gone a long overdue face lift. The hall now stands proud within the High Street after being given a fresh coat of paint by Kevin Wilson, Painter and Decorator.
