The New Romney Traders Association is taking Action - Starting with the Heart of the Marsh - the New Romney High Street.

Members are working hard on a 12 month Marketing Plan for the ongoing revival, rejuvenation and growth of the High Street. Thier aim is to benefit all businesses in the locality, to increase trade, to enhance the area for the community and to attract both residents and tourists.

Under the leadership of the newly appoint Chairman, David Roder of Red Carrot, the Association has identified many exciting ways forward.

Current projects include:

  • • The publication of a brochure promoting the varied services and products the High Street has to offer.
  • • A website, www.romneymarsh.info, which will enable users to access up to date information on all the shops in the high street.
  • • An initiative which will help visitors find safe and convenient parking.
  • • The encouragement of improvements to the environment with property renovations, hanging baskets and information signs to make the High Street a pleasant place to visit, live and work.

The members are very excited about the new dynamism and energy of the Association. Their work will undoubtedly to bring great benefits not only to the high street, but also to New Romney and to the surrounding villages and countryside.
